Confessions Daily – Vol. 15
Welcome to our first Confessions Daily report following the release of Madonna’s Confessions II album last Friday.

Arguably the most exciting news after the album arrived to our hands, Danceteria has been officially announced as the new single off Madonna’s Confessions II, impacting radios on Friday, July 10, according to a Warner Music Italy press release.
Then Madonna herself shared a Reel on her Instagram with the coolest behind the scenes footage from the bathroom scene on set of Confessions II – The Film. At the present time there’s no official news about whether we’re eventually going to have a full lenght video for Danceteria like it happened with Bring Your Love, but how grand would it be?
More short clips were released today, with Julia Garner as Madonna plus Benedict – yes, Madonna, that is my real name – Cumberbatch, Feid and Odessa A’zion. all promoting the release of Confession II. Check them all here.
And speaking of Bring Your Love, almost simultaneously another behind the scenes featurette was released on Instagram, this time via the official account of MTV.
Don’t forget that Bring Your Love is also the subject of the lastest physical release for Confessions II to date, with the new bundle composed of the translucent red LP and an exclusive translucent 7″ vinyl single featuring Bring Your Love and its Stuart Price Afterhours Remix as the B-side now available for shipping worldwide from the U.S. Warner Records store.

- Lucy O’Brien, the author of the biography Madonna: Like an Icon, writes about Confessions II on The Guardian today, explaining how Madonna was always anti-nostalgia, but looking back on Confessions II has revitalised her music.

- In his first piece on Harper’s Bazaar, Mathew Rodriguez reckons on how Madonna’s new album is a pulsing reflection on loss and how dance floors have helped her endure and the memoir we’ve been waiting for.
In 2023, Madonna’s retrospective Celebration Tour had her revisiting each era of her career. And earlier this year, she shared that Universal scrapped her long-planned biopic over budgetary concerns. Through it all, Madonna was writing Confessions II, which is much more than just a spiritual successor to her 2005 Confessions on a Dance Floor. Rather, it’s her telling of the story: a sonic memoir unpacking the loneliness of being the last one dancing while paying tribute to those who’ve danced alongside her over the past five decades.

- Billboard.com is discussing the chances for Madonna to win a Grammy (or three) for Confessions II, reflecting on how Grammy voters slowly came to embrace the Queen of Pop.With a solid 83 rating at crit-aggregating website Metacritic – the second-highest rating for any of the 10 post-2000 Madonna albums listed – Confessions II could win for best dance/electronic album at the 69th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 7 — 20 years after Confessions on a Dance Floor was honored in 2006. That would make Madonna the first woman ever to win twice in that category, and would give her the longest span of wins in that category.Madonna could also win Grammys for individual tracks on the album, and Billboard reports that Warner Records is tentatively planning to enter I Feel So Free for best dance/electronic recording and either Danceteria or Bring Your Love for best dance pop recording. The collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter may be submitted for pop duo/group performance and if accepted there, it would not be able to also compete for best dance pop recording.The project would also compete for album, record and song of the year; best music film for Confessions II: The Film , directed by TORSO, and best music video for Bring Your Love.
