It is that time of the year again and here is MadonnaTribe’s list of the best and most collectable magazines with Madonna on the cover published in year 2015.
“Pushing The Envelope” on MOJO
January 2015 brings Madonna on the cover of MOJO for the very first time. The British magazine’s March 2015 issue hit the newsstands on Tuesday, 27 January with a 13-page spread including a worldwide exclusive interview covering Madonna’s career from her early days in New York City circa 1982 to her 13th studio album.
“The Eternal Number One”: Madonna covers the German Interview
Madonna was the cover star of the March 2015 edition of the German edition of Interview. The magazine reprised the David Blaine interview illustrated by Mert and Marcus for a huge 48-page Madonna special which came out with the two different covers you see below and the headline: “The Eternal Number One“.
“Madonna Fights Back” on the March issue of Rolling Stone
In one of her Instagram posts Madonna premiered the gorgeous image by Mert and Marcus that would soon be on the cover of the March 2015 issue of Rolling Stone magazine, which was published on February 27th.
Madonna on cover of the Italian Vanity Fair
As reported first on MadonnaTribe.com, Madonna was the cover star of the March 17, 2015 issue of Vanity Fair Italia.
The magazine featured an eight-page spread illustrating the interview Marco De Martino had with Madonna in New York City in January last year, marking the premiere of the Terry Richardson photoshoot on an Italian publication.
Madonna by Ellen Von Unwerth for Cosmopolitan
Madonna teased her fans on Instagram about herself becoming a Cosmo Girl again, with photographer Elle Von Unwerth also posting a snap of them together on the photoshoot set.
When the May 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan was finally been revealed, collectors learnt that Madonna was going to look stunning on four different covers – including a special subscriber’s one.
Several international editions of Cosmopolitan later followed, including those from Italy, Turkey, Mexico, Poland, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Serbia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Armenia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, South Korea and the Middle East among others.
Madonna on the “#ME” issue of Interview
Interview magazine took inspiration from the selfie and fashion’s obsession with social media for its September 2015 issue to create an Instagram-themed set of eight alternative covers based on self portraits of some of today’s most popular social media personalities. Here is the @Madonna cover.
The Rolling Stone Madonna Special Collectors Issue
On her Instagram account Leslie Dela Vega – digital director of photography for RollingStone.com – teased the Madonna fans with a picture of the layout of the upcoming Special Collectors Edition of the magazine.
The special anthology issue was also reprised by the Italian edition of Rolling Stone a few weeks later, and collectors were treated with the slightly different version of the classic Herb Ritts cover you see below.
Spotlight Magazine – Rebel Heart Tour issue
Issue N°56 of the French magazine Spotlight came out with a stunning double cover and 84 pages about the tour of the year.
