Chicago Night No. 5
With a start at 11.15 PM the Thursday, 24 October Madame X theatre show in Chicago marked a new record as the latest yet. As a result, it ended up at 1.45 in the morning.
The Polaroid went to Eve, a dermatologist who Madonna invited to stroke her skin; she offered 4,000 $ for the selfie.
After a not much exciting interaction with a starstruck fan the night before, the beer chair moment has been mixed up – Madonna sat on the stairs rather than with a single fan and held a group chat, asking one member of the audience who didn’t drink or smoke what she did do, the girl said read books, Madonna said like what and the girl didn’t know: the key thing here being be prepared to let your light shine if you get an audience with the Queen at the show!
Madonna spoke again another being a soccer mum and growing a food baby in Lisbon before joking with Gaspar Varela and calling him a donkey, then an ass – she told everyone not to take it seriously as she is still trying out her stand up.
Rather than counting down from ten for the dancers to tip her from the piano after Sodade, Madonna now leads the crowd in a 1-2-cha cha cha refrain, which is fun and gets the crowd ready for Medellín.
Top points will go to fans who can shout out something other than “Donald trump” when she asks a certain question after Express Yourself – someone answered “Elton John” yesterday, which bought the house down.
Tonight, Friday, is a day off from the tour. If you are in town, it’s a great chance to see Madonna’s longtime pianist and accordion player Ric’key Pageot with his wife Dessy Di Lauro on vocals as Parlor Social perform some SpeakeasySoul/ProhibitionFunk at Untitled Supper Club. Showtime is 8PM.
Madame X will be back at The Chicago Theatre for her two final shows in town on Sunday and Monday night – tickets are still available from Ticketmaster.com.
