Madonna’s Danceteria<\/strong><\/em> is finally receiving an official remix treatment with the 7:08 minutes long Harry Romero Remix<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0being released on the digital platforms at midnight tonight.<\/p>\n

The original version of the song on Confessions II<\/em><\/strong>, written alongside Andrew Watt, Henry Walter (Cirkut) and Stuart Price, has already turned into a massive club staple and secured Madonna’s milestone 20th hit on the Billboard Dance Airplay Chart<\/strong>, where it currently resides at No. 18.<\/p>\n

Harry Romero<\/strong> shared the story behind his remix in his latest Instagram post<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Release days come and release days go.
\nToday is a BIG one for me that will stay with me for a long time.
\nBeing asked to remix Madonna latest single Danceteria <\/em><\/strong>off her new album is a career high.<\/p>\n

Growing up in the 80\u2019s never ever did I think I would one way or another be creatively involved with such a pop icon. She, along with Michael and Prince, has been the soundtrack to my youth and the youth of so many. My friend and manager Ralph Moore says it best.. there\u2019s not a day that goes by that we don\u2019t hear her voice or her name being said.<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s a short story on how this kinda happened, I think.
\nAbout a year or so ago I made a bootleg of one of her very early singles Physical Attraction<\/em><\/strong>. I made this to simply play in my DJ sets. I gave it to Carl Craignet and Honey Dijon.
\nI then see a video a couple months back of HDJ playing my bootleg at a listening party in London with M right next to her. In the same vid you see M asking HDJ what she was playing.<\/p>\n

The call came in a week later asking me to remix Danceteria<\/em><\/strong>. I guess it always comes back to what I do in the studio. That has been my calling card for 3 decades. So from this basement in New Jersey to the world\u2026 today we celebrate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Harry’s manager Ralph Moore<\/strong> also shared this story<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Growing up in Mid Sussex, I only saw three evolving, omnipresent pop\/dance artists globally adored by one word alone. Madonna. Prince. Michael. (Later of course they were joined by a boy from Bushey called George.) But there was only one woman in this brattish pack, and her disco initially represented Detroit, then the clubs (especially Danceteria) and later a mixture of top tier songwriting, (blonde) ambition and more seismic hit singles than anyone else in history. There is never a day that I don\u2019t hear Madonna in the wild. Her collaborators – among them Shep Pettibone, Jellybean, Stephen Bray and now Stuart Price – were always astute. William Orbit\u2019s sudden departure last week is still being felt by the wider dance community, but Stuart\u2019s now back as captain of her ship.<\/p>\n

When Stuart jumped in the saddle for Confessions<\/strong><\/em> and now Confessions 2<\/em><\/strong>, things got really interesting. Finally, she had a foil she could trust all the way (Hung Up, Sorry, Bring Your Love and \u2018L.E.S. Girl\u2019 are all top tier M) and in return, he could help steer an iconic artist who\u2019s always looking forwards. Two months ago, Harry Romero and I were invited to remix Danceteria<\/em><\/strong> from Confessions 2 and all of a sudden, we were both invited into the inner sanctum. The remix was needed in a week. A week!! Stuart and M were away at The World Cup Final. Parts were sent across. As Neil Tennant commented wittily earlier this summer, Madonna was now a duo.<\/p>\n

This week, I get to fulfil a lifelong ambition by working with the team at Maverick and Warner Music to deliver what I think might be the best remix of Harry\u2019s career. It dropped today. The Lou Reed-sampling original is the sort of song you might have heard at Pacha in the 90s, but the remix is as fierce and contemporary as you would expect from New Jersey\u2019s Romero. Stuart personally requested us to join the second Confession and we join a roll-call that includes Honey Dijon, Peggy Gou and Stuart Price himself. It\u2019s one of the proudest moments of my career as a manager and we\u2019re just getting started.<\/p>\n
