{"id":15434,"date":"2017-04-25T14:40:46","date_gmt":"2017-04-25T13:40:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.madonnatribe.com\/en\/?p=15434"},"modified":"2018-03-14T21:05:06","modified_gmt":"2018-03-14T20:05:06","slug":"madonna-biopic-blond-ambition-lands-at-universal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.madonnatribe.com\/en\/2017\/madonna-biopic-blond-ambition-lands-at-universal\/","title":{"rendered":"Madonna Biopic &#8216;Blond Ambition&#8217; Lands at Universal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an exclusive news today, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/madonna-biopic-blonde-ambition-lands-at-universal-996133\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Hollywood Reporter<\/strong> reveals<\/a> that <strong>Universal<\/strong> has picked up\u00a0<em><strong>Blond Ambition<\/strong><\/em>, the script by <strong>Elyse Hollander<\/strong> that topped the <em>2016 Black List<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; the industry ranking of the most-liked yet unproduced screenplays in Tinseltown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael De Luca<\/strong>, who produced <em>Fifty Shades of Grey<\/em> for Universal, is attached to produce along with Brett Ratner\u2019s RatPac Entertainment. John Zaozirny of Bellevue Productions will also produce.<\/p>\n<p>The story is set in New York City in the early 1980s where a\u00a0young Madonna works on her first album, struggling in a business that treats women badly, while also dealing with a burgeoning love life and the first hints of fame &#8211; a topic first\u00a0explored in 1994 by the tv movie <em><strong>Madonna:\u00a0<em>Innoc<\/em>ence Lost<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0starring Terumi Matthews.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Blond Ambition<\/strong><\/em> is the debut script for \u00a0Elyse Hollander, who previously worked as an assistant to Alejandro G. Inarritu while he made <em>Birdman<\/em>, and <em>Fresh Off the Boat<\/em> co-executive producer Kourtney Kang.
