On this day, 25 years ago, Madonna released Erotica, her most provocative and daring album which was also her first release on Maverick Records label.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Erotica five years ago the MadonnaTribe team met Tony Shimkin, co-producer and co-author of some of the album’s greatest songs, Tony brought us behind the scenes of the making of this incredible album and talked about two songs that didn’t make the final cut of the album, You Are The One and Shame. 30 years ago today Madonna performed the second to final show of her Who’s That Girl World Tour at the Stadio Comunale in Turin, Italy – a performance that later combined with footage from the final show in Florence on September 6 and parts recorded in Tokyo, Japan, became the famous VHS tour souvenir Ciao Italia.

On March 20, 1990, Sire Records released Vogue as the first single from Madonna’s second soundtrack album, I’m Breathless.
The song was written by Madonna with producer Shep Pettibone; it was recorded between December 1989 and January 1990; the music video was filmed by director David Fincher at The Burbank Studios on February 10 and 11 and premiered on MTV on March 29, 1990.
Both the song and the video quickly became some of the most iconic works in Madonna’s career. Read More
