Taking a Bow in Saint Paul
As many of you have guessed from our Instagram Stories yesterday, Take a Bow made a triumphant entrance into The Celebration Tour setlist at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota last night.
Madonna performed her longest running #1 U.S. single right after Ray of Light, in the spot usually held by Rain (and sometimes Frozen). This time the song was matched by a brand new backdrop video with references to Japan – let’s see if this means the change in the setlist is here to stay.
Minnesota born drag queen Manila Luzon served as the guest judge during the ballroom section of the show.
Madonna also payed tribute to Minneapolis-born Prince Rogers Nelson , telling the Two Cities crowd she was very grateful for having the chance to work with him and collaborate, and to be his friend, and the performing a few lines of his 1986 hit Kiss in a sing-along with the audience before segueing to La Isla Bonita.
Next stop, Seattle, for two of the rare weekend performances of the U.S. leg of the tour on February 17 and 18.
