“It’s Been a Long Time Coming”

The moment many fans waited for for their entire life finally happened mid-show last night in Los Angeles: Kylie and Madonna were finally together on the same stage.

The atmosphere was electric as the Princess of Pop had been spotted among Madonna’s guests for the night, but she would not end up being the special guest judge for the ballroom as some expected – the two had much more in store for the lucky fans at the Kia Forum; lots of extra handheld cameras around were also a clear hint of something coming over.

After her second speech and before performing her acoustic number Madonna invited a special guest on stage: it was Kylie! And they performed together I Will Survive. It was a longer version of the cover which included both verses to the song.

Kylie was wearing a black tank top with a shiny Madonna writing on the chest – a clear nod to the t-shirt Madonna wore at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2000. There was so much love, respect and mutual admiration in the house that you could not avoid falling into tears.

The two then went on performing Can’t Get You Out Of My Head acapella that segued into La Isla Bonita.
