In The Garden
It was an easy guess to expect The Celebration Tour visiting Madison Square Garden being special, and how great these two nights have been!
Madonna, her guests on and off the stage, the crowd, everything was memorable – even the starting time before 10 PM (9.50 on Monday, 9.35 last night).
Stewart Price opened the shows, the one and only Jose Extravaganza was the special judge for the ballroom section, Amy Schumer was in charge for the second night; Sam Smith, Russel Tovey and Neil Patrick Harris were also in the audience.
Madonna performed again Express Yourself and Rain. – I Love NY was mashed with Burning Up again and Mother and Father was preformed as a duet with David Banda singing the second verse solo. Madonna also mentioned David’s mom before and after the song last night. She talked a lot about the AIDS epidemic and told the stories of two nurses who were at the front lines in the ’80s and were in the audience – a very moving moment.
The Celebration Tour is now moving to Philadelphia for one night at the Wells Fargo Center tomorrow, January 25, before returning to NYC for the last time on Monday, January 29.
