Every Goddamn Summer
During the mid-show speech at The Celebration Tour show in Pittsburgh on Monday night Madonna told the audience how she used to visit her grandparents farm house in Aliquippa every Summer until the age of 16, and acknowledged the story of her grandfather Gaetano Ciccone, who was born in Pacentro, Italy, and came to the U.S. before World War II. As many Italian immigrants, Gaetano, who was an inventor in Italy, worked for pennies in the steel industry when he moved to Pittsburgh. Madonna praised all the hard work from around the world who were treated like shit before starting to perform the acoustic version of Express Yourself.
