“And I Was Given Another Chance So I’m Very Grateful For That”
A very touchy moment happened at the first Celebration Tour in Antwerp last night, when Madonna had an intimate chat with the audience right after performing I Will Survive.
So it’s f*cking miracle that I’m here right now
My mother, light bless her, she must be watching over me, she said “girl, it’s not your time to go.”So when I woke from my induced coma I saw all my children around me and of course…
(long pause – the audience cheers)
I had this strange thought, I suddenly had sympathy and empathy for my mother…
(We love you Madonna!)
Thank you…. not about the lonely part but how much, how lonely she must have felt being in a hospital knowing that she wasn’t going to live.
And I was given another chance so I’m very grateful for that.I must tell you I don’t feel very well right now but I can’t complain ’cause I’m alive.
I thank God for my children and all of you and all your love and support, I really appreciate it.
Madonna then went on performing Mother and Father.
The concert last night started started at 21:38 and ended just before midnight. No changes in the setlist to report.
Belgian tour choreographer Damien Jalet was the Ballroom Bitch.
The show was the first one of the tour with a standing audience and the room was really packed. The floor area at the Sportpaleis was divided in two sections – GA Floor A and GA Floor B. All the Iconic VIP Package customers were accomodated in the Sound Factory pit and the Danceteria pit was incorporated in the Floor A area.
Madonna will be back tonight for the second show, the final night of the Belgian stop of The Celebration Tour.
