“Thank you Lisbon for the last time, and goodnight!”
The last show in Lisbon has just finished! Madonna wrapped her final performance at the Coliseu does Recreios with a “thank you Lisbon for the last time, and goodnight”, and with that she was gone.
A few hours before she took to her Instagram to confirm she was returning to the Lisbon stage after the cancellation the night before; the fans were relieved and happy to learn the final show was a go.
It started at 11.02 PM, making it the latest Lisbon show, and it was also the shortest finishing at 1.23 AM.
Four members of the Madame X band were again performing acoustic before the show, mixing Madonna tracks to fado and classic pieces. The Madonna songs performed last night were again Secret, Don’t Tell Me, Who’s That Girl and Like a Virgin.
The Polaroid selfie went to “Tony the nurse” from Brazil for 6k€. He didn’t speak a word of English so Madonna asked someone next to him translate their conversation. At first she thought he was a farmer, when she realised he was a nurse she said “oh good I’m going to need some injections late.”
The beer chat was with Christian who had bought the Polaroid a few nights earlier. She complimented him on his outfit, he explained that he is going to 32 shows and has made 28 different costumes.
She was bare foot again for Come Alive and Future and said “I love high heel shoes because they’re pretty but dancing bare foot is so comfortable, I never realised before.”
At one point she said “thank goodness for my good leg and then sang a couple of lines of Elton John’s “I’m still standing.”
She also sang a couple of lines of Like a Virgin whilst on the piano at the end of Crazy.
She completely missed a line during Human Nature, the interesting thing here was that there was NO backing tape.
Dino D’Santiago joined her for Sodade
again, and they toasted with a glass of white Port once again.
Still no Crave, which may mean the songs it’s out due to Madonna’s injury.
Once again – great voice, she seemed to move about the stage without any problems. She said several times how wonderful it had been to be in Lisbon.
The Madame X stage was dismantled and operations to send it to the UK started right after the show ended and lasted for the rest of the night.
Now it’s off to you, London!
