Happy Anniversary, The Immaculate Collection!
Thirty years ago today, on November 9, 1990, Sire Records released the first greatest hit album by Madonna: The Immaculate Collection.
The record-breaking collection contained new versions of fifteen of Madonna’s hit singles spanning from 1983 to 1990 plus two unreleased tracks: Justify My Love and Rescue Me, becoming the best-selling compilation album by a solo artist and one of the best-selling records of all time.
All the classic hits on The Immaculate Collection were remastered by Shep Pettibone together with Goh Hotoda and Michael Hutchinson using the then-new QSound audio technology. Into the Groove, Like a Prayer and Express Yourself received a proper remix treatment by Shep while more tracks were edited down from their original lenght to fit the total running time of the compilation.
Happy Anniversary, The Immaculate Collection! Play it out loud and stay tuned for related surprises!
