Welcome to Pride Island
Back in 2017 and after a more than thirty year long run, the organizers of NYC Pride transformed the Dance on the Pier gig into a new multi-day live musical event named Pride Island. Conceived as an inclusive hub for the LGBTQI+ community to celebrate, Pride Island also serves as a fundaiser to support the production of a serier of free events in the City.
Following two hugely successful editions, this years NYC Pride brings Pride Island to Hudson River Park’s, Pier 97, in the heart of Hells Kitchen on Saturday, 29 and Sunday, 30 June.
This year’s NYC Pride will simultaneously be hosting WorldPride for the first time on American soil, including the city’s iconic Pride Parade, which will also take place on Sunday. This year’s festivities also include a three-day film festival called OutCinema, an opening and closing ceremony for WorldPride, and a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots.
NYC Pride previously announced their legendary Saturday headliner Grace Jones, along with Teyana Taylor, Pabllo Vittar, and more.
None other than Madonna will perform a couple songs to help close out WorldPride | Stonewall 50 on Sunday.
