Tribe Lists – Madonna Vinyls 2019
Another Madonna year is ending and it’s time to look at what it brought to collectors. 2019 was a great year for vinyl releases.
It started with two great releases for Record Store Day, replicas of two japanese EPs from the 80’s – True Blue and La Isla Bonita – that came out respectively on blue and green vinyl.
Then Madame X was released and it came out as a double black vinyl, a double clear disc, a very very limited double light blue vinyl (now very expensive to buy) and a not very attractive picture disc with no Madonna nor Madame X picture on any of the four sides of it!
Then fans struggled to get I’m Breathless on yellow vinyl as it’s a Barnes and Noble exclusive release only available in the U.S. while another search was launched to get I Rise, the Madame X 12” single supposed to be released worldwide in November for the Black Friday Record Store Day. It eventually only came out to the American stores as the European release was “shelved/cancelled/delayed to RSD2020”.
The first four albums of the Queen Of Pop were then released on clear vinyl: Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue (with poster) and the Who’s that Girl soundtrack.
More vinyl will come out in 2020! RSD will give us some great treats as usual while Rhino (who manages Madonna’s Warner Music back catalogue re-releases) will also be coming out with interesting stuff this coming year.
