Madame X is more Bitter than Sweet
The Madonna community wakes up this morning with a tour-related news no fan should ever deserve to read: the first three concerts of the Madame X Tour have been cancelled – not one, not two, but the first three nights at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House will not take place and the tour now starts the following week on Tuesday, 17 September 2019.
The opening night of a tour is a celebration of the relationship of mutual love and respect between the artist and her fans. Fans from all over the world save money, book flights and hotels, and fight for high-demand tickets to make sure that when the curtain goes up, Madonna doesn’t have an audience of casual theatre-goers in front of her, but her loyal fans, ready to send her love and support on a night where butterflies in the stomach are the least you expect.
When the show is presented to the world for the first time, sometimes still a bit rough and certainly unpolished, the fans want to be there because they know Madonna needs their love. Sadly, this won’t happen this time.
The first two shows have been rescheduled to a month later, at the very end of the New York City residency – and it’s not rocket science to understand how badly this affects the plans and the wallets of those who had their trip to the Big Apple scheduled and paied for – and that only those able to put extra money into their Madonna tour budget will manage to reschedule and be there in October. No matter if, it won’t be the same anyway.
The official statement from Madonna.com follows. MadonnaTribe sends sympathies to all the fans affected: we know this is not the first time, but we certainly hope it will be the last.

Statement from Madonna:
Madame ❌ Is a perfectionist and wants to give you the most unique, magical, and musical experience. She underestimated the amount of time it would take to bring this kind of intimate theatrical experience to you and wants it to be perfect!!!
