“Madame X is back and looking forward to seeing you tonight!”
Madonna shared the news she was going to be back on the stage of the Brooklyn Academy of Music after being forced to cancel last Monday’s performance due to a knee injury with a short clip and a message:
Madame X is back and looking forward to seeing you tonight!
Always in control of what she shares with the outer world from her own theatre show, Madame X smartly set the audio of the short clip to the notes of Nina Simone’s My baby just cares for me.
The performance last night was amazing, with Madonna fully present and on fire, the show was super polished and with a lots of little tweaks from the earlier dates.
The Polaroid selfie was again a unique moment and yet another record was broken: the opening bid was 3,500$ but ultimately the selfie went for 6,900$. Madonna thanked the lucky bidder and said the money would go to children in Malawi.
For the beer fan moment Madonna sat next to a fan in her twenties named Lily – a Scorpio; her brother was sitting somewhere else in the area and had given her that seat. Best brother ever.
Madonna was also emotional during the last monologue about freedom and walking in the footprints of giants.
Tomorrow night she will be back for her last show in Brooklyn, then it will be the time to see Madame X bring the show on the road, travel to a different venue and perform in a different city: Chicago.
