Behind the scenes at MTV
MadonnaTribe is happy to share a few behind the scenes stories from MTV Presents Madonna Live & Exclusive: ‘Medellín’ Video World Premiere special that took place last night, live from London.
The event was held in the MTV Networks Europe staff canteen in Camden Town which had been dressed for the occasion.
There was a strict “no phones no social media policy” that was enforced in the easiest way – asking fans to put their mobile phones in plastic bags at as soon as 4 pm.
Some lucky fans were still able to take some pictures of the venue set-up after the event ended and when were handed back their phones – a nice memory of a special an intimate moment with Madame X.
20 Icon fan club winners and their guests, 20 models and professional audience members and 20 industry figures were in the studio along with MTV staff watching on from the balcony. Some 18,000 fans entered the contest at Madonna’s official fan club.
Madonna appeared on the set ten minutes prior to showtime, chatting with the audience whilst hair makeup lighting and camera angles were finalised.
The production team had plans for more questions to be made, but they eventually ran out of time. As you noticed Madonna was in a great mood (and looking stunning) and she was very into answering questions about her new project – with so many things to ask it would have been great if they arranged a longer time for the special.
Right after the broadcast ended Madonna asked the fans and music industry media in the room what they thought of the video and took many individual responses, all were positive. Of course, as the cha-cha instructor Madame X is, she offered everyone a cha-cha lesson in the future. She then had to leave swiflty as we was headed to a brief press photo call.
