Madonna to chair the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean
On Wednesday September 26th 2018, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation will hold its second Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean, a major fundraising event in the heart of Monte Carlo, in order to support its worldwide initiatives in favor of a sustainable ocean, a crucial issue calling for immediate and collective action.
Held in the presence and under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Gala will welcome prominent guests from around the globe – including Event Chairs Madonna, Orlando Bloom, Adrien Brody, Pierce Brosnan, Andy Garcia, Hugh Grant, Goldie Hawn, Eva Longoria, Olga Kurylenko, Robert F Kennedy Jr, Diane Lane and Chris Tucker – at the most exclusive venue of the Principality, the Terraces of the Opera of Monte- Carlo.
Last year Leonardo DiCaprio was honored with “The Award of the Albert II Monaco Foundation” for his outstanding work to protect and preserve our shared planet.
The Academy Award-winning actor was also the man who made Madonna and Prince Albert cross paths at his own foundation’s fundraiser in St Tropez last year, where the Quen of Pop performed a surprise set of hits to help raise $30 million for the planet.
In advance of this year’s event Madonna said:
Taking care of the planet is incredibly important to me, so I am delighted to be supporting HSH Prince Albert of Monaco and his foundation. The serenity and life of the oceans are under threat and we can make a difference now and should do everything possible to preserve it. The Monte Carlo Gala in September couldn’t be more needed to raise the money to help save our oceans.
