Tour Diary: Sept. 12, 2015
Before the Rebel Heart Tour visits Washington, DC tonight let’s take a moment to recap what happened in the last couple of days.
On Thursday, Sept 10 Madonna wrapped up the tour opener with the second show at the Bell Centre in Montreal. It was another fun-tastic concert, and marked the begininng of what seems set to become this tour’s tradition. At the end of Unapologetic Bitch Madonna invited a member of the audience to join her on stage and jokingly offered him a banana.
The skit happened in the same moment when Madonna invited Diplo on the Rebel Heart stage during opening night, and it has been captured on various fan pics and footage; discussion quickly arose about weather the lucky one was actually a fan or a crew member or a model acting as one. Easy answer: what happens in the next few shows will tell.
The same night Madonna and Diplo join Arcade Fire members on stage at Naïve Melodie party at the PHI Centre in Montreal.
Madonna looked fantastic even though she had just performed the second show in a row and had fun dancing and singing along (while playing cowbell) to David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel, spun on the decks by Diplo and DJ Windows 98. Once again the moment set the social media by storm.
On Friday the Rebel Heart crew left Montreal and arrived in Washington DC, and spent the day off sharing funny moments and some more touristy pictures on their Instagram accounts and on Periscope.
After the Montreal dates some additional North American tour dates for year 2016 appeared on the net. You haven’t seem them here on the Tribe News page as they have not been officially announced or added to the Madonna.com itineray yet, so it would be better to wait a little more before letting the excitement spread loose.
Last but not least, according to a local lifestyle publication, the Rebel Heart Tour should be stopping at the Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok, Thailand on February 9, 2016. The news was later removed from the online magazine’s website and local promoter BEC-Tero didn’t deny or confirm the rumour, suggesting that fans should stay tuned for an official announcement from Madonna’s team.
