Tour Diary: Italians Do It Better
With the third and final show last night Madonna wrapped the Italian triplet of concerts at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, and what a night it was! Let’s take a moment to recap what happened on stage on November 19, 21 and 22.
The first Italian show took place last Thursday, and it actually was the last night to be announced and go on sale. Madonna looked very happy to return to Turin and performed a surprise version of Don’t Tell Me between Who’s That Girl and Rebel Heart.
On night #2 she aknowledged the audience to be even better than the one of the first date, Secret replaced Who’s That Girl and Ghosttown – with the entire arena singin’ along – was the highlight of the night.
The day after, for the third and final show, Madonna didn’t perform the 80’s Medley but the audience got an epic Like A Prayer.
Madonna had fun talking in Italian throughout all three shows, reprising almost all her famous quotes from the Ciao Italia concert – and remembering her roots and blood. The interaction with the crowd got better and better night after night, and on the final show the Madonna fans sung two “classics” to the Queen, chanting Ale-Oo and Sei Bellissima, and it was 1987 all over again. Madonna herself also added some personal touch to the concert singing a few lines of That’s Amore and Mambo Italiano during Music.
As our Twitter followers already know, designer Fausto Puglisi – who created the matador outfit and the cape for the show – was the Unapologetic Bitch of the third night.
Madonna is currently spending her day off in Barcelona, where she will perform tomorrow and the following day. Off to you, Spain!
