Madonna by Anderson Mahanski

Anderson Mahanski from Rio de Janeiro -“2D animator and illustrator, not necessarily in this same order”, as he describes himself – is the talented artist behind the beautiful Living For Love inspired drawing you’ve seen on the Queen of Pop’s Instagram a few hours before the Grammy Awards last Sunday.

MadonnaTribe got in touch with Anderson and asked him to talk about the story behind his beautiful artwork, and what being aknowledged by Madonna herself means for him, as an artist and as a fan.

I am a Madonna fan since I was a kid. Her songs, strengh, beauty and intelligence deeply touch my heart and inspire me.

How this drawing reached her? I suspect it was for the following reasons…

I have an animation studio called Combo Estudio. Last year our concept arts were published and spread around the world. Myself and my associate, Fernando Mendonca, made an art collection called Game of Thrones as Disney. The fans loved the series and since then we have tons of followers in our Fanpage.

Last Thursday I watched Madonna´s latest video clip, Living for Love, and I found it phenomenal. Afterwards, I started drawing an concept art with Madonna herself wearing the video clip outfit. Then I puplished in our fanpage.

On Sunday Madonna posted the artwork on her Facebook and Instagram, praising the art I’ve made! I was greatly honored and happy! She is the diva of the divas! A living legend!

I hope that I can send her the concept arts in a higher and better resolution. That’s my way to reflect the gratitute I have for her for inspiring us for so long!
