Thirty years ago today “Like A Virgin” reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and reigned supreme at #1 for six weeks.
“Like A Virgin” was then certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on January 10, 1985, at a time when the requirement for a Gold single was a million copies shipment across the USA. No need to say – it also topped the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
