The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier hits London
The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier has landed in London as the Barbican Art Gallery hosts the British stop of the the first major exhibition devoted to the celebrated French couturier, organised by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with Maison Jean Paul Gaultier.
As the MadonnaTribe readers remember the exhibition was initiated and produced by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA), under the direction of Nathalie Bondil, Director and Chief Curator and Thierry-Maxime Loriot, Curator at the MMFA in collaboration with Maison Jean Paul Gaultier – Paris.
After visiting Dallas, San Francisco, Madrid, Rotterdam, Stockholm and the Brooklyn Museum in New York City, the show stops at The Barbican as part of its international tour, in a city that continues to inspire Jean Paul Gaultier and his artistic vision. The exhibition runs until August 25th and is accompanied by an events programme and film season.
Once again the exhibition is also a heaven-on-earth for every Madonna fan, with pieces from the continued collaboration between the French genius and the Queen of Pop making some of the highlights from the show, which keeps being updated stop after stop – with the original Blond Ambition corset and its MDNA Tour re-invention now being showed side by side.
MadonnaTribe’s very own London correspondent Manu visited the show this week-end and brings you a selection of stunning images from the Barbican.
